After two years with a THL w200s a nice octacore with 1.7Mhz MTK6592w it was time for a change.
I was looking for a mobile with a big screen cause i use it as eBook reader good Wifi and GPS and of course dont cost a fortune.
After search the only that can fit to my criteria was LG G3.
One year old but still pretty good ,the best screen ratio 77% enough for my reading needs and also amazing QuadH 138.8 mm(5.5 inch) battery that is pretty sufficient for my mild use ,one of the fastest CPU in the market and as price is really good ,for that money you can only buy a mid range chinese mobile(200$).
I bought the LG G3 from fastcardtech and my choice was the Cat6 (or F460 or LTE).Thats the korean version that means I have nice korean programs that i dont understand their purpose nice TV (that works only in South Korea and no radio-snif,probably koreans are more to tv than me old time radio lover ,listen to music with a nice eBook)
I bough it (first time in that shop) from fastcardtech. What i read for fastcardtech wasn't promising but the price was good.So i decide to risk and order from there.I order 25 Octomber.I didnt get any tracking info for more than a week then i start worried.I email them and also message them in facebook. They reply was really fast and the plus is that they informed me for any change. Finally after 12 days i had my tracking info and the parcel arrived 19 Nov (for those that buy from Chinese shops they know that is pretty fast).
The other issue i was worry about, i was affraid that can be replica and i know that chinese can make really nice replicas of expencive mobiles. So after i open the mobile i start the CPU-Z and the result was what i was hoping for.But still i wasn't 100% sure so (i know even if the had let say an MTK that hack the firmware and change to say Snapdragon cant have high rate in antutu)Antutu came for help ,the unit scored 41566 (i already had install a nice toshiba exeria that is amazing fast maybe that helped to score that much and of course the mobile dont have any other apps is fresh install the average of normal installation is around 35K-38K).
OK with the buying experience ,i dont have the mobile long and my previous was all chinese brands so i cant say much. The mobile even if i have one of the heavy launchers installed like Next Launcher 3D (but if i had to stick with the LG launcer i wouldn't complain isalso very nice) work smooth with no lag ,the screen is a killer (the best i ever saw ).
As far the wifi and one of the reasons i choose this over LG G3 with snapdragon 801 is FAST and i mean really fast.Memory 32Gb plus the 16Gb of toshiba will be more than enough for my needs.GPS is also fast compare to MTK's i had.
Anything that have to do with grafix is more than good Adreno 420 do a really good job.Battery i can't tell yet but after all the wifi and installing and GPS test and...well can last long even for a day of heavy use.
For a gamer maybe is not enough BUT there is always the QC2 (support fast charging and i bought one nice QC2 charger even before the unit arrived)
Overall the short time experience is more than i hoped for,if you want a relative cheap mobile that still is powerfull LG G3 is for you even for gamers i must say that is good.
Tips & Tricks:
#1. Improve performance with a work of ART
After android 4.4 Google have a choice Dalvik or ART.ART still on development but can improve slightly battery consumption and speed of your unit.Start by opening your phone's settings menu, go to the "General" tab, and then scroll down to "About phone" and then "Software information." Now find the entry that says "Build number" and tap your finger on it until it tells you that you're a developer(i think 7 times).
Now you can back out into the main Settings menu, and enter the new "Developer options" section (also under the "General" tab, near the bottom). The fourth entry in the list says "Select runtime." Do just that, and switch from Dalvik to ART.After making the switch, your G3 will reboot and take some time (probably around 10 minutes or so do not reset your device) to upgrade all of your apps. Once that process completes, you should notice smoother scrolling and UI transitions (and possibly some better battery life). This is a developer-level tweak, which normally shouldn't be taken lightly, but I haven't noticed any instability whatsoever with ART.Unless you really are a developer, though, it's otherwise best to steer clear of that Developer Options menu that you unlocked. If you head back there, you can hit the "Off" button at the top right of the screen to prevent any accidental changes.
#2.Launch the camera without unlocking your G3
LG included handy volume button shortcuts for the camera (volume down) and its Quick Memo+ note-taking app (volume up). If, like me, you don't use LG's notes app, that one is inconsequential. But the camera shortcut is something we can all enjoy.
First, hop on over to Settings>General>Shortcut Key to make sure the setting is turned on. Once it's activated, just hold the volume down key, while the G3's screen is off, to instantly fire up your camera. You have to hold the button for about two seconds, and you'll feel a little vibration pulse once the camera starts.
Now you can enjoy your amazing 13Mp camera.
#3.Tap a pattern to unlock your G3
LG has its own unique form of smartphone security called Knock Code. If you want to try it out, open Settings>Display>Lock Screen>Select Screen Lock, and then choose "Knock Code."
It will then ask you to choose a pattern of taps (across four corners) that you can use to unlock your phone without even turning the screen on. And of course the more knocks you add to your pattern, the more secure your phone will be.
Update 12/3/2016
For the LG G3 Cat6/LTE with android 5.01 users.I check and works for rooting the device KingRoot 4.5.6
After 4 weeks of use everything works OK and is rooted.
Download: 1__KingRoot4.5.6.apk
I was expect the camera to be better in the device and all the apps i used wasn't good enough.
Till now.I found XCAM and work really good in my G3 .
Download: XCamLG_624_g3_lp.apk
I am not expert photographer but i want some decent pictures, with XCAM with a fair good light the G3 gives some nice results is not DSLR but is OK.
More will be added post if you know one in the FB comments ,thanks for reading.
